continuing network field or programming

hello all

my name is ali i am a network engineer with over 8 years experience, in fact i do not know is it a good place for asking my question or not .

i have fluent skills in mpls, mpls vpn , vpls, ccvp, ccnp ,mcse and rhce

and did many projects in my field , at the first time i liked to become .net programmer but i chose networking , my salary is good but sometimes i think is it possible to learn .net or it is too late at least 8 years passed from my choice and i am older so i was confused
what should i do forget programming and just deep my knowledge more or start programming.
please share your ideas and help me for a decision
