Based in Northampton (England), Blackstar Amplification is currently recruiting a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our development team. This is an excellent opportunity for you to work with leading edge guitar amplifier technology and expand your skill on a range of innovative projects. The company is a leader in the guitar amplifier business and supplies top quality products to a global market.

Reporting to the department manager you will be part of a small team who work on developing applications for our ARM-based microprocessor platform. You will be involved in architectural decision making, all aspects of the software development lifecycle and providing technical leadership within your areas of expertise. As this team is growing there are opportunities for you to take ownership of projects.

You will be a strong communicator as duties will also include liaising with other departments internally to discuss software/hardware issues and there will be opportunities for you be involved in future product specification. Self-motivated and proactive and have excellent organisational skills and as quality is a key factor in the success of this company, it is essential you are committed to producing work of the highest standard.

The successful embedded software engineer will have experience in the following areas
-Embedded C
-Software design
-Board level debugging
-USB Audio

Ideally you will also have experience or knowledge of hardware design, ARM architecture and real time audio. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject such as computer sciences or electronic engineering or have equivalent experience.
