classification

I am a beginner in Matlab and looking for help!!!

is there any dataset for words and classified as nouns, verbs, advs, etc ??

how can I apply the classifiers on my data which are words and sentences in this case !!! can any one show me how in details ?? let's say I am using k-NN classification or any supersived technique
